I think it was a mixture of knowing and not knowing that worked for you. Not knowing the diagnosis, but knowing that, after the move, in that new environment, all the terrible feelings involved in socialising is very much Needed to go through to make the situation work. It sort've wrestles into submission whatever hesitation that could pop up making everything clearer, more straightforward.
